I started working as a glass artist in the hot shop at Molten Media Glassworks in Sperryville, VA, in 1991. I traveled around the east coast for a few years working in various furnace studios before studying lamp working, electroforming, neon, and offhand glassworking at RISD, UrbanGlass, TecnoLux and Pilchuck Glass School.
I have been making glass pipes since 1993, and began focusing on glass marbles in 2016.

I mainly work in borosilicate glass and precious metal fume. All of my work is fully annealed in digitally controlled kilns.
I occasionally find the opportunity to return to my roots and dabble in offhand softglass, casting, neon and copper electroforming.
My current work focuses on exploring more complex marble structures and reflective fume fades in threadstamp patterning.
My vessels and pipes are projections of the inner pattern, informed by traditional proportions, reflecting the inner dynamic texture, circles-in-lines, bubbles-in-grooves.

My Glasswork is influenced and informed by my roots in the Studio Glass Movement and traditional Venetian design sensibilities, natural geometries and strangeness.
I have been developing threadstamp patterning and uncommon shaping techniques for decades. If you would like to learn about precious metal fuming and various glass patterning and shaping techniques, you can schedule private lessons by emailing us at squirrelandbee@gmail.com
